Elva Reil

Elva Reil, was born on April 18, 1917 at Alda, Nebraska to William and Sarah (Stutzman) Riley, the third of twelve children and went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Crestview Care Center in Milford, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 22 days surrounded by her family. She accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized in her youth at East Fairview Mennonite Church. She attended country school in Seward County and was later united in marriage to Wesley Reil on August 19, 1936 at Shenandoah, Iowa and to this union seven daughters and one son, Doris, Nancy, Carol, Judy, Connie, Nona, Vickie and Wes were born.
Together they made their home in Crete where she was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. They moved to Pleasant Dale in 1964. Elva was a professional cake baker and she baked many birthday and wedding cakes until 1982. In her spare time, she loved playing rook and dominoes, quilting and crocheting for her family and at the age of 90 took up painting. She made a special picture for each one of her children and grandchildren. Elva was a faithful member of the Milford Mennonite Church. She had a deep concern for the Spiritual welfare of her family. Elva will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Elva is survived by children and spouses, Doris and Clyde Kremer, Canon City, CO, Nancy and Roger Roth, Beaver Crossing, Carol and Gary Yeackley, Milford, Judy and Jerrel Roth, Milford, Connie and Bill Stauffer, Colorado Springs, CO, Nona and Rick French, Moundridge, KS, Vickie and Larry Schweitzer, Friend, Wes and Deb Reil, Pleasant Dale, 38 grandchildren and spouses, 45 great-grand children, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Naomi Yeackley, Milford, brother and sister-in-law, Walt and Jane Riley, Seward, sisters-in-law, Lois Riley, Milford, Sylvia Riley, Friend, Dorothy Reil, Lebanon, OR, brother-in-law and spouse, Larry and Betty Springer, Milford, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wesley in 1983, four brothers, Ernie, Harvey, Les and Ferman Riley, three sisters, Mildred Detweiler, Mertice Hostetler and Vera Springer.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Milford Mennonite Church with Pastors Tim Springer and Audron Siebert officiating. Interment is in the Milford Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford, and from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Viewing also Saturday 1 hour prior at church. Memorials have been established and are directed in care of the family. Pallbearers: Mike Kremer, Wendell Roth, Denny Yeackley, Ryan Roth, Troy Stauffer, Tim Blaylock, Stuart Schweitzer, Nate Reil. Honorary Pallbearers, Doug Kremer, Andy Kremer, Matt Roth, Rick Roth, LaMar Reil and Nolan Reil. Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford, is entrusted with the care and arrangements.
