Leland D. Fisher, 80, of Beaver Crossing, passed away, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford. He was born December 5, 1943, in rural Frontier County, Nebraska to Leonard S. and Ona Evalena (Blake) Fisher, the 3rd of 8 children.
As a young boy, Leland attended Maywood High School, graduating from Maywood High School with the class of 1964. On September 28, 1968, Leland married Katherine (Wear) Fisher at the United Methodist Church in Beaver Crossing and from this union two children were born, Kevin, and Christine. Leland worked for farmers from the age of 16, a 30-year employee of Cushman Motors, 4 years for the Village of Beaver Crossing, and several years at Beaver Crossing Co-op. Leland was a Jaycee, a board member and Loan Officer for the Cushman Credit Union, Beaver Crossing Volunteer Fire Department, and the Beaver Crossing Chamber of Commerce. In his spare time, Leland, in his younger years played baseball, softball, and enjoyed hunting. As he got older, Leland took an interest in golfing.
Leland is survived by his wife, Katherine (Kathy) Fisher, Beaver Crossing, NE; children, Kevin (Kim McCord) Fisher, Seward, NE; and Christine (Paul) Harwood, Beaver Crossing, NE; grandchildren, Mason Royal, Beaver Crossing, NE; Brothers, Elden (Elaine) Fisher, Eden Prairie, MN; Marvin (Peggy) Fisher, Curtis, NE; and Gary (Linda) Fisher, Curtis, NE; Sister-in-law Diane Lovercheck, Florence, AZ; Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and many friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Ida Blake, LeaDean Fisher; brothers Richard Fisher, Melvin Fisher, and William Fisher.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the American Legion Hall on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Beaver Crossing. No visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Beaver Crossing Volunteer Fire Department.
