Memorial Services will be held Saturday October 29, 2022, 10:30am at Friend Congregational Church, Friend, NE.

Visitation to sign registration book only will be Friday October 28, 2022, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, at Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services, Friend, NE.

Richard “Dick-Puffy” Weber of Friend, NE passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Wednesday October 19, 2022, at the age of 73. Dick was born April 2, 1949, in Friend to Benjamin and Alberta (Plock) Weber.

Dick graduated from Friend High School in 1967 and attended Universal Trade School in Omaha.

In 2005 Dick was joined in marriage to Marilyn Ensign and together they resided in Friend.

Dick worked at Warren Memorial Hospital for 25 years as the head of maintenance. He was a lifetime farmer, which he truly loved doing. Dick was a 40-year member of the Friend Rescue Squad.

Most of all Dick enjoyed time with his family, his children, and grandchildren. Dick enjoyed traveling when he could get away. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends. Dick loved farming and the animals on the farm, especially all their pets.

Dick is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughter Heather (Brooks) Martinez and husband David. Grandchildren Alex, Madison, Mallory, and Marin. Brother Tom and Glady Weber. Nephews Darroll Weber, Darren and Miriam Weber, Dustin Weber, and Barry Bottger. Special longtime friend Bob Anderson, Texas, and many other relatives and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and sister Patty.

Memorials may be given to Tunnel to Towers, Pieloch Pet Adoption Center, Lincoln, NE.

Per Dick’s wishes he was cremated and private family scattering.
