William G. Stockdale

William Gene Stockdale, 70, of Friend, NE, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. He was born on January 27, 1953, in Lynwood, California, the son of Stephen Christopher Stockdale and Joycelyn Lee (Tyson) Stockdale. William graduated from El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, California. 

William's childhood dream was to be an over-the-road truck driver and that's exactly what he did. His later years of trucking were not over-the-road, but for local businesses. During his time home he enjoyed nothing more than being with his daughter and her family. His hobbies included watching sports, fishing and golfing, to name a few. 

Survivors include his daughter Lacy Stockdale (Hoang Tran) of Lincoln, NE; Grandchildren Lyndyn, Truden, Zayne and Asia Tran of Lincoln, NE; Brother Chris Stockdale and his wife Peggy of Sierra City, CA; Sister Jackie Carley and her husband Clyde of Bristol, TN; Nephews Sean Carley and his wife Bergandi of Carterville, IL, Zachariah Stockdale and his wife Jamie of Chilcoot, CA, Gabriel Stockdale and his wife Dayana of Nevada City, CA; and many great nieces and nephews. 

William is preceded in death by his parents Joycelyn and Stephen.

Memorial services will be held at the Ihde Clubhouse in Friend NE, May 7th, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
